# Create a password and activate double authentication

###### Defining a password

When you create your Qomeet account, you can log in to your account using the verification code sent to you by e-mail each time you log in. Alternatively, you can set a password for your account.

| If you set a password for your account, each time you log in you will be asked to enter your password instead of the verification code sent to you by e-mail.

To create your password :

* Log in to your account and go to the menu **My account**.

* Click on **Set a password**
* Choose a sufficiently secure password and click on **Continue**
* Enter the verification code sent to your e-mail address to confirm the creation of your password.

###### Password change

To change your password:

* Log in to your account and go to the menu **My account**

Open the application on your phone and add a new account.

* Click on the icon **Change my password**

* Enter your current password, as well as the desired new password. The new password must be secure enough to be accepted. Click on **Change my password** to complete the change.

###### Activate double authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) strengthens the security of your account by requiring two methods of identification: your usual password and an additional code that you obtain via a dedicated application.

|| To activate two-factor authentication, you must first have [defined a password](#6-defining-a-password) for your account.

* To activate two-factor authentication, go to the menu **My account**.

* Make sure you have an authentication application installed on your phone (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, etc.).

* Open the application on your phone and add a new account.

* Scan with the application the QR code displayed on the screen, or manually enter the key provided.

* Enter your Qomeet password, as well as the 6-digit code displayed on the app on your phone to finalize 2FA activation.

* Two-factor authentication is enabled! To log in to your account, you will now need to enter your password and a code generated by the authentication application.
