# Assign a meal to a participant manually

[Meal allocation rules](https://help.qomeet.com/en/article/meal-allocation-rules-sud55i/) allow you to automatically assign meals to your participants according to the criteria you define. However, it is also possible to assign a meal to a participant **manually**, or delete a meal that has been allocated automatically.

### Assign a meal manually via the participant sheet

* Go to the [detailed participant file](https://help.qomeet.com/en/article/manage-participants-and-process-accreditation-requests-14ck41y/#3-detailed-information-and-history), in the **Catering** tab

* Click on the meal you want to change, or hover over a slot that does not contain a meal and click on **Add**

* Select the **Manual** option and choose the meal you wish to assign to your participant, or select “no meal” if you wish to impose the fact that the participant has no meal.

### Assign a meal manually to several participants at once

* Select the participants for whom you want to book a meal from the list of participants and go to the menu **More > Book > Meals**

* Select the type of meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), the dates for which you wish to manually book a meal, and the meal option you wish to assign to participants.
